Supports Growth of Lyris HQ in US and Abroad

EMERYVILLE, CA – April 15, 2009 – Lyris, Inc., the online marketing expert, today announced three strategic new hires to support current and future growth of Lyris HQ, both in the US and abroad. The expanded sales team, which includes Rick Sichel, vice president of national field sales, and Donna McNicholas, UK sales director, will focus on growing demand for the company’s integrated marketing suite. In addition, David Fowler joins the team as director of email strategy, deliverability and privacy compliance to support the email component of Lyris’ rapidly expanding business. More than 600 customers are leveraging Lyris HQ to integrate, optimize and increase campaign ROI.

“This expansion directly supports the market demand we are seeing for Lyris HQ globally and underscores the desire of marketers at organizations of all sizes to employ a flexible, comprehensive integrated marketing solution,” said Luis Rivera, CEO, Lyris, Inc. “As marketers’ roles continue to change and expand in scope, it is critical for us to grow our strong team of leaders with people who exhibit unique expertise and international experience.”

Sichel joins Lyris with more than 15 years of experience in sales and sales management within the technology space, specifically at other SaaS-based businesses. Before Lyris, he was vice president of sales for Financial Crossing, Inc., a firm specializing in SaaS deployments to financial institutions. Previously, Sichel held various senior sales roles at Thomson Financial, Advent Software and Bloomberg.

“Lyris HQ provides a unique market proposition and its rapid adoption showcases the desire for an all-in-one marketing solution,” said Sichel. “I look forward to building on Lyris HQ’s success to provide marketers with an integrated suite that is flexible to meet their dynamic and changing needs.”

McNicholas joins Lyris in the United Kingdom to lead the company’s European sales division. Previously, she was the director of regional business development for dotMailer, a full-service digital marketing agency. Before that, McNicholas held a number of sales positions within the digital marketing industry and has expertise in working with and selling to marketers at both large and small organizations.

“With time and budget constraints weighing on today’s marketers, there is a clear demand for simple, intuitive, Web-based solutions to better meet their needs in any geography – both present and future,” said McNicholas. “I look forward to leading the growth of Lyris HQ in Europe and fulfilling an un-tapped need for marketers in this region.”

In addition to Sichel and McNicholas, David Fowler joins Lyris as director of email strategy, deliverability and privacy compliance. An expert in this space, Fowler brings more than six years of experience in deliverability and ISP relations to Lyris, most recently with Alterian. Before that, he served as vice president of global deliverability and privacy services and compliance at BlueHornet Networks, an email and e-newsletter marketing solutions provider. Prior, he led deliverability and privacy services for YesMail.

“How marketers deliver messages is evolving quickly,” said Fowler. “I am excited to work with Lyris’ leading clients to ensure they are always one step ahead.”

The three new team members have already started in their respective positions.
