Right On Interactive, maker of the ROI Customer Lifecycle Marketing campaign management software solution, today released the fifth episode of The Marketing Spotlight podcast.  This series highlights marketing leaders who share their stories of successful interactive marketing communications campaigns. 

This episode features Lisa Borg, vice president of marketing and communications for Slimband, Canada’s leader in weight loss surgery programs.  Ms. Borg relates the story of how Slimband uses multi-step content marketing communications to educate prospective patients on the procedure.

“It’s difficult to explain what the [bariatric] procedure entails and how simple it is in a short ten minute call after the lead comes in,” says Ms. Borg.  “We find that it generally requires more of an ongoing educational approach.” 

Slimband also continues nurturing the patient relationship after the procedure.

“There’s a period after the surgery which is the healing phase where they are on special diets,” adds Ms. Borg.  “We know that those changes offer different challenges for the patient.  So, now we can proactively send emails saying that this is what’s going to happen, these are the things you can expect, and it takes away that feeling of uncertainty that they’re not sure if what they’re feeling is okay.”
